The End of Time

The calculation of time, for most computers, is done in what is commonly referred to as Epoch time, or the number of seconds since January 1, 1970.

Unfortunately for the vast majority of today's computers, which are 32-bit, the number of seconds since 1970 will rollover (due to size) on January 1, 2038 at 12:00 AM (Some systems are the 19th).

Most UNIX's, in particular, rely on 32-bit time functions. For these systems, the 32-bit timer overflow will mean that all machines after January 1, 2038 will think that it's 1970. This is commonly referred to as the 32-bit apocalypse.

What's the point of all this? Dark Ages runs on x86 Solaris, a 32-bit operating system. Therefore, if DA is never ported or changed and continues to run on x86 Solaris, and Nexon is around for the next 30 years or so, Temuair's apocalypse will be on the 3rd moon, 7th day in the Spring of Deoch 313, a little after 7:37 in the evening.
